Day 3 of filming

During the editing process we realised that we told a story to much, rather than selling the artist. We decided to film some more shots of the main singer, however we changed the angle of the shot so that we didnt constantly use a mid shot, some of the shots we used included a profile shot and a close up. We also came up with other shots that werent originally part of the shot list however we felt we could incoporate them into our music video a lot better. The link below shows the locations we filmed the shots in which was mainly based around the School area. Due to it being dark some of the shots didnt work, however we used a torch and managed to get some good shots that would work well in our music video. The date these shots were taken was Thursday 28th November.

Editing our music video

 This is evidence of our group editing the music video. We downloaded the track 'Torn' before we started the editing process so that we could follow the song word for word, especially with the lip-syncing.

 

We are almost half way through the editing process, to make sure that we do every shot correctly we have been following the original storyboard. This means that any shots we missed out due to the camera running out of battery we know we need to do. 

 

 

Since doing the editing process we have came to the conclusion that some of the shots aren't as good as we first thought. Also from showing our  teacher our work she suggested that we need to focus more of the main singer rather than using the narrative constantly. This is something we have now decided to do a therefore we are going to re-shoot some of the shots. As we are in front of schedule this isn't going to effect the editing process that much, which means once we are happy with the new shots we can just put them in to were the original shots were meant to be.

 

Evidence that work is my own



 These two pictures of me are evidence that the work we recorded and the shots of locations that we took are my own. I asked my sister to take a picture of me taking pictures for our locations list as these were shots that we used for day 2 of filming.

Day 2 filming

Due to the camera dieing on day 1 of filming, we had to film some shots again so that we had enough shots for the whole music video. This is something we learned from the preliminary task, we decided to film these shots at my local park as we didnt really have time to go up to London on Sunday 17th November however overall i think we got a lot done and most of the shots came out really well.



This is where we filmed the scenes were I look to the sky.

 Luckily it wasn't raining, although the weather wasn't great. This still fitted in to the pop genre we were trying to convey as our song is slow and sad.

This is the swings, that i sat on in the music video.

 Originally we never planned to use swings in our music video, however we had problems trying to find a gallery to film in therefore i came up with the local park near my house as an alternative. This still shows the idea of being alone which is what we decided as a group originally what we wanted.

 When we played back the recording we got from day 2 of filming we actually really liked the shot on here, as we had used various angles which within the editing process we could develop further by using close ups and quick cuts from different angles.

This is also where we did a 360 degree angle of myself, currently we still haven't decided if we will be using the shot that we took however I think the location worked well on the day as the grass is really bright so the main focus would be on my rather than the surrounding trees.

Schedule for day of music video shoot

This is a basic outline of what our first day of filming consisted off. We went to various locations throughout the day, and got the majority of the filming done. We decided it would be a good idea to do it in half term as some of us work at the weekend, and some people have other commitments therefore Wednesday 30th October suited everyone.
